EcoCash has launched a new Super App in Zimbabwe, shifting from simple mobile money to an integrated platform featuring social payments, bill splitting and more.
Officially unveiled on April 21, 2026, the application represents a major ecosystem shift for digital finance in the country. Developed by Sasai Fintech, the upgraded platform aims to deliver a fully integrated digital lifestyle experience by combining messaging, everyday services, and financial transactions into a single, user-friendly interface.
The standout feature of the new “Super App” is the direct integration of commerce and social networking. Users can now chat, send, and receive money within the exact same window. This eliminates the need to switch between a messaging app and a banking app or take screenshots to confirm payments, making transactions instantly conversational.
To further increase everyday convenience, EcoCash has introduced a highly requested automated bill-splitting tool. Whether users are dividing the cost of a taxi ride, groceries, or a restaurant bill, the app instantly calculates each person’s exact share and allows them to settle their portion directly within a group chat.
Beyond standard peer-to-peer transactions, the app brings new opportunities for the creator economy. Users can now share and monetize their content directly on the platform. With built-in "Donate," "Request Payment," and "Tips" features, local entrepreneurs and content creators can easily turn their social engagement into an economic opportunity.
